Master of Pharmacy in Pharmaceutics (Intake: 15)
The Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) in Pharmaceutics is a two-year postgraduate program designed to provide advanced knowledge and expertise in the science of drug formulation, development, and delivery systems. This specialization focuses on transforming active pharmaceutical ingredients into safe, effective, and stable dosage forms such as tablets, capsules, injectables, ointments, and novel drug delivery systems that ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes.
The program offers an in-depth understanding of pharmaceutical technology, biopharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics, and advanced drug delivery mechanisms. It equips students with the scientific and technical skills required to design, evaluate, and optimize pharmaceutical formulations in accordance with industry and regulatory standards.
A strong emphasis is placed on research and innovation, where students undertake a dissertation or research project in specialized areas of pharmaceutics. This enables them to develop analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and practical experience in pharmaceutical development and experimentation.
The curriculum is further strengthened through laboratory training, industrial exposure, and internships in pharmaceutical companies and research organizations, providing real-world insights into drug development, manufacturing processes, and quality assurance systems. Students may also explore specialized domains such as novel drug delivery systems, pharmaceutical nanotechnology, industrial pharmaceutics, and formulation development.
Graduates of M. Pharm in Pharmaceutics have diverse career opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry, research and development, quality control, regulatory affairs, academia, and clinical research. They can work as formulation scientists, research associates, production managers, or quality assurance professionals. The degree also serves as a pathway for higher studies such as a Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences for those interested in research and academic careers.
