The Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharm) is a two-year, entry-level professional program designed to introduce students to the fundamental principles of pharmaceutical sciences and healthcare practice. This career-oriented course serves as a strong foundation for individuals aspiring to build a future in the pharmaceutical and medical sectors.

The program equips students with essential knowledge of drug formulation, dispensing, pharmacy operations, and patient care. It prepares learners to work under the guidance of registered pharmacists in hospitals, community pharmacies, and other healthcare settings, ensuring safe and effective medication management.

Through a combination of theoretical instruction and practical training, students develop a clear understanding of pharmaceutical practices, drug safety, and healthcare responsibilities.

Program Duration: 2 Years

Examination Pattern: Yearly System

Eligibility: For Admission to D. Pharmacy passed the class 12th Examination (10+2) from Recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics/Biotechnology Subjects as compulsory three subjects, with at least 45 % marks (UR Candidates) and 40 % marks (SC, ST & OBC of Chhattisgarh).

Career Options after D. Pharmacy: A D. Pharmacy (Diploma in Pharmacy) provides several viable, high-demand career paths that allow graduates to start working immediately or lay the groundwork for entrepreneurship. The primary career options include:

Retail Pharmacist: Working in local community pharmacies or large pharmacy chains (e.g., Apollo Pharmacy, MedPlus) to dispense medications, verify prescriptions, and counsel patients on proper drug usage.

Hospital Pharmacist: Managing drug inventory, maintaining prescription records, and distributing medication within private or government hospital settings.

Medical Store Owner / Entrepreneur: Obtaining a license to start and run your own independent pharmacy or medical shop.

Medical Representative (MR): Promoting pharmaceutical products and medications to doctors, clinics, and hospitals on behalf of major drug manufacturers.

Production and Quality Control: Working in medicine manufacturing units as an assistant, helping with packaging, or performing quality assurance testing on drugs.

Higher Education: Pursuing lateral entry into the second year of a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or other advanced clinical courses for broader career scope and higher earning potential.
